Advisory Boards


The Technical Advisory Board


The task of the REACTION Technical Advisory Board is to ensure that the project remains aligned with healthcare technology trends and market and exploitation movements during the course of its execution and that the projects results are always aligned with the newest scientific trends.

The Technical Advisory Boards will not make any decisions on behalf of the project, but can make recommendations. The Technical Manager will ensure that recommendations from the Technical Advisory Board are properly recorded and fed back to the work package leaders.

The Technical Advisory Board consists of six external specialists and four members from the REACTION consortium. The Technical Advisory Board is chaired by Jesper Thestrup from partner In-JeT. The six external specialists are as follows:

Henrik Bengtsson is a Research Scientist, MBA, B.Sc. He is an expert in diabetes, glucose measurements and delivery systems and has filed several patents on needle insertion devices.
Prof. Dr. Herbert Michael Heise
University of Applied Sciences of South-Westphalia
Germany
Prof. Heise is a professor at the University of Applied Sciences of South-Westphalia. He has previously been at the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften and is affiliated with Dortmund University of Technology. He is an expert on molecular spectroscopy and biomedical applications.

In 1999 he started as an associate professor in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering and since 2003 as University Professor of Telematics Engineering Department at the Higher Polytechnic Center UZ. He is an expert in biomedical engineering in the field of telemedicine and communications.

He is an expert in trust, socio/economics frameworks, and design of security in context and his special field of expertise is in Trust Socio/Economics, Innovation strategies/frameworks and design of Security in Context products and services focussing on Usability and convenience of complex AmI systems.
Dr. Stephan H Schug

Stephan H Schug, MD, MPH has been educated as a physician with a focus on public health. As a recognised European eHealth expert, he promotes the improvement of personal health and health systems by eHealth and telemedicine services. He is currently Chief Medical Officer and Partner in the Management Team of EHTEL, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Association’s publications and is interested particularly in eHealth strategies and implementation with a focus on eHealth interoperability, continuity of care, patient safety/ePrescribing and Health Professional eIDs. He is expert in eHealth strategies and implementation with a focus on interoperability and continuity of care.

The Technical Advisory Board will convene 3 times until the end of the project in 2014. If deemed desirable, the Chairman can call further meetings. The first meeting was held at ATOS premises in Madrid on the 8th September 2011 and the second meeting at the Health Services Management Training Centre (HSMTC) at Semmelweis University in Budapest on 15 March 2013.

The Medical Advisory Board

The task of the REACTION Medical Advisory Board is to ensure that the project remains aligned with medical and clinical trends in healthcare provisioning during the course of its execution and that the projects results are always aligned with the newest trends in healthcare service organisation and generally accepted case management.

The Medical Advisory Boards will not make any decisions on behalf of the project, but can make recommendations. The Chairman will ensure that recommendations from the Medical Advisory Board are properly recorded and fed back to the workpackage leaders.

The Medical Advisory Board consists of five external specialists and four members from the REACTION consortium. The Medical Advisory Board is chaired by Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Pieber, University of Graz.
